'Elena' delivered to owner

Heesen's 47m 'Elena', formerly Project Margarita, has been delivered to her owner.…

On 11 July Heesen's 47m Y/N 16847, formerly Project Margarita, and now christened M/Y Elena, was delivered to her owners.

Elena was, according to the yard, subject to 'intensive sea trials', which took place on 4 & 5 June 'in particularly heavy sea conditions in the North Sea'. But despite the adverse weather conditions, the yard also declared that 'everything went according to plan.'

Zero-speed stabilisers have been installed to enhance comfort at anchor and the trademark round bilge hull with bulbous bow, powered by two MTU 8V 4000 M63 engines, will provide a range of 4,000nm at 12 knots.

Upon delivery the owner said, "When I came to the shipyard in Oss the first time it was love at first sight: This is going to be our home away from home on the ocean!"

Elena is now ready for her maiden voyage to Scandinavia before going to the Mediterranean, and then to the Monaco Yacht Show for her premiere to the industry.
