Bilgin Yachts, Turkey, has launched the hull of the Bilgin 164, Alfulk, the yard’s first steel and aluminium construction.
The 49.9m full-displacement motoryacht features a traditional bow and is designed by H2 Yacht design, the studio also behind the Bilgin 147. Both contracts were secured in November of last year.
Alfulk is designed with her family owner in mind: “Her owner required a timeless design capable of safely cruising with his large family and can only be described as a ‘gentlemen’s yacht’” commented Jonny Horsfield, owner and design director at H2 Yacht Design.
“The exterior is modern but not too radical and she will have teak capping rails and the beige colour hull that gives her a classy appearance.”
Her interior features are a mix of contemporary design for the cabins and main salon, with a more formal, traditional design for the sun lounge.
She has guest accommodation for up to 12 guests, in a master stateroom, one VIP cabin, and four guest cabins. She will also have a cinema and a gym.
She will be powered by twin 1230kW Caterpillar 3512C engines, with which she will cruise at 13 knots, with a maximum of 16 knots.
Alfulk is due for launch in June 2014.
