Baglietto begins work on latest project

Baglietto has begun construction on its first new contract of 2014, a 54m full displacement superyacht, designed by the Francesco Paszkowski team. The contract, which was agreed at the end of February with a European client, will see the vessel delivered to her owner in summer 2015.

The 54m is an adaptation of the existing 53m line, which includes Blue Scorpion, Gitana and Baraka. The new design will, however, feature ‘a combination of geometric shapes and very sleek, sinuous exterior lines,’ according to the yard, ‘while the very streamlined bow reminds of Nordic boats’.

Once completed the yacht will be able to reach a top speed of 17 knots, with a cruising speed of 13 knots, thanks to two Caterpillar 3512B engines.

She will join two 46m displacement yachts, a 43m planing yacht and a 46m planing yacht currently under construction at the yard. There is also a 58m superyacht currently undergoing tank testing.
