Uruguay-based yard Astilleros Buquebus launched the 52.5m classic schooner Dona Francisca in January. The yard is designed by Javier Soto Acebal, with sails by Doyle Sails, and is the yard's debut superyacht project. The all carbon yacht has been built for an experienced South American owner.

It is the 54th superyacht to be launched from the South American continent. This is fewer than any other global region but Brazil is set to launch two more superyachts this year - a 32.72m 100 Limited Edition from Mcp Yachts, and 41.14m Evolve from Inace.
