Yacht Technologies, part of Selex ES, a Finmeccanica company, will be showcasing its optimised global communication package at Monaco.
The fully serviced system solution and package includes turnkey VSAT, VOIP telephones, private GSM networks, Sat-TV and secure internal and external IT networks.
“As a global innovator of internal and external communications, we know only too well the considerable benefits that a well-considered communications package can deliver,” commented Trevor Bond, head of sales for Marine and Yacht Technologies.
“However, all too often, when people think of superyacht communications the first thing that comes to mind is satellite domes and antennas. Although these are crucially important, we want to change this mind-set by demonstrating that communications doesn’t just start and stop with a broadband link.”
Visitors to the Yacht Technologies stand (QS76) will be able to see these latest innovations from the company. The company also plans to use the show as a platform to challenge common misconceptions about superyacht communications and to encourage owners to exploit the ‘untapped potential’ of an end-to-end, fully serviced communications network.
“All too often communications only becomes important when it doesn’t work, whether that be through voice disconnection or frustrating black spots or data speeds. However….communications can be effortless for the lifetime of the vessel with all systems working in perfect harmony. In fact, when a communications solution is optimised across the entire onboard network and is seamlessly integrated with navigation, security and entertainment, it can provide the ultimate user experience,” said Bond.
