V+A introduces the ionian

Victoria + Albert Baths adds to its modern collection with the ionian bathtub…

UK, London. At the ISH Frankfurt 2015, British brand Victoria + Albert Baths (V+A) — one of the brands to take part in this year’s Editor’s Picks — added the ionian to its Modern Collection. Following V+A’s rimless motif, the ionian is a freestanding bathtub that provides a comfortable soak for one or two persons.

An elliptical, variable width rim complements the ionian’s oval design and the curvilinear theme continues throughout. Curved edges and a deep convex body make the ionian ergonomically pleasing as well as attractive and ideal for those who enjoy a high water level for increased submersion.

A calculated recline angle supports the body allowing the muscles to relax and the generous internal volume with double-ended design and a central tap unit makes the ionian comfortable and spacious for two. Much of the internal volume can be attributed to the high, sweeping sides, which in turn enable the ionian to be short (1.7m) relative to its competitors, making it ideal for the superyacht market.

The ionian

Made from a combination of volcanically effected limestone, resins and hardener the ionian is warm to the touch and well insulated. This ‘Volcanic Limestone’ material is also lightweight and eases the burden of installation.
