In a bid to marry style and safety, and encourage guests to think more practically about the necessity of lifejackets on board, Tribord has launched the Izeber Jacket. The jacket is designed as a gilet, but also offers buoyancy equivalent to 50 Newtons and is ISO 12402-05 approved.

The Izeber is made of strips of polyethylene that contain air pockets. ‘Micro-beads’ equip the material with the flexible properties that make the jacket comfortable to wear on deck.

Despite its everyday appearance, the Izeber jacket is still a technical garment, as it provides guests and crew with protection against the cold and wind, and safety in ‘man overboard’ scenarios. It is also reversible, revealing its fluorescent orange side with integrated reflectors, increasing sailors’ visibility if necessary.
