A handsome games table finished in tinted sycamore with an inbuilt chess, backgammon and card-playing area along with four glass holders in gleaming polished nickel to keep the drinks, the conversation and the competition flowing.
The design was originally inspired by the atomic age, harking back to the styles from the early 1950s and the Festival of Britain, and celebrates the strong geometric shapes and patterns of the time. The protruding, conical legs juxtapose the square frieze and are accented by the polished nickel foot sabots. The frieze is inlaid in a strong, linear, book matched pattern and helps to frame the central chess board.
