Navigation electronics company Team Italia held a press conference at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) to outline its mission to expand its reach by actively pursuing the American market. This move comes as the company looks to capitalise on its success and elevation within the market with the launch of CRN's 80m Chopi Chopi - to which Team Italia delivered its I-Bridge and I-Chart table earlier this year.
The company, which is exhibiting alongside Videoworks at the show, explained to SuperyachtNews.com: "It is important for us to be here and explain directly to the owners and captains what our systems can offer." Expanding on this, Massimo Minnella, CEO of Team Italia, explained the alternate needs of the market: "The US market ... has a different way of approaching the wheelhouse area and integrated systems." And Team Italia plans to meet this need with the showcasing of two of its products at the show, the i-Bridge® MT and the i-Chart® table.
Team Italia has delivered to 300 yachts over 10 years, and this expansion of its focus to cover the US market was, in the words of Minnella, because "we are ready for this market, and they are now ready for us." With the American market such an important target market for the industry as whole, it seems Team Italia's focus is well placed.
