SuperyachtDESIGN Week 2013 gave its audience a glimpse of future designs, trends to watch, such as Rough Luxe, and also delved into the concept of patenting amongst other topics. The programme was broad, engaging and insightful. But some of the most popular attractions were the Artisan Showcases.

We loved learning more about skilled craftsmanship, from the eccentricity of mattress stuffing to translating motifs onto delicate tableware. A particular favourite amongst the crowd was an intricate display of the almost forgotten world of marquetry.

Watching each of these astonishingly talented artists gave pause for thought; prompting admiration for the painstakingly detailed processes that are often taken for granted (and for which most of us have no patience).

SuperyachtDESIGN Week 2014 is supported by a number of new and Artisan & Innovator Showcases. To find out who will be joining us for three days of design please click here.
