Shipyards are the superyacht industry’s most prominent entities and provide the epicentre for all superyacht projects, be they new builds or refits. They also comprise some of the most prominent, and successful brands in our sector.
For the vast array of suppliers and contractors who contribute to the end product, getting face time with these vast commercial enterprises can be difficult. But that’s where SuperyachtDESIGN Week comes in. The event has already attracted some of the industry’s leading proponents of yachtbuilding, including gold sponsorship from Blohm+Voss, and a presentation from Gulf Craft’s Erwin Bamps, who will discuss ‘Where it all began’.
Furthermore the SuperyachtDESIGN Week team has received registrations from one of the world’s leading custom builders, Oceanco, and can confirm the return of the world’s largest privately owned builder, Azimut Benetti.
Commenting on last year’s event, Azimut Benetti’s Michela Bellini said it was a “fruitful opportunity to meet up with all those people involved in the yachting industry and exchange interesting opinions".
With this stellar list of yards set to expand, SuperyachtDESIGN Week offers an unprecedented opportunity for the design community to liaise and network with their potential clients. And with new build orders enjoying a very welcome spike in Q1 2014, there is plenty of business to be done in the medium-term for those who can cement their position.
