My name is Jeff Fredrich and I am the captain of a 30.5m Hatteras located in Saint Martin. Before becoming the captain I was the engineer for the previous owner. I have been with the same boat for just under five years.
I would like to tell you about RXP, a fuel treatment that I have been using for the last two years. Yes, I know that right now you’re saying, “Not another one of those”. I felt the same way when my very good friend Graham Barnes told me about it. He gave me a few sample bottles and asked me to try it with no commitment whatsoever. At the time, I was driving a Ford Ranger with the four-litre V6. I put RXP in the fuel and could feel a significant increase in power and smoothness by the time I had traveled two blocks. I now use RXP in everything that I run.
On the boat, I have a decrease in fuel consumption of slightly less than 10 per cent. The soot from the exhaust of the main engines and the generators has completely disappeared, reducing maintenance time and cost. There are no more grey stains on the hull and swim deck, even after long trips running hard. I use it in the jet skis and tenders as well. Fuel savings in those is tough to check, but everything starts quicker and runs smoother than they ever did before.
