Superyacht underwater lighting specialist OceanLED has announced completion of three underwater lighting refits on 100+ metre superyachts in Germany.
Utilising the company’s LED retrofit light, the AV150, the exisiting yachts' decade-old metal halide and HID fixtures were exchanged for LED lights, without the need for hauling. "The yachts aesthetics have been completely transformed," commented Lee Savage, at OceanLED.
"The move toward complete LED lighting for superyachts is most certainly here. With the new capabilities of colour change technology, and the ability to integrate lighting into other onboard systems, such as the security systems for underwater detection and inspection, coupled with the AV150’s ability to be exchanged without hauling, makes switching to LED lighting an exceptionally simple decision and task," he said.
Ocean LED reports that other recent projects have opted for a complete upgrade to RGBW colour change, allowing crew and guests to modify the colours of the yachts underwater lights from either its onboard system, such as Crestron, or from their own smart phone or iPad via a WIFI app.
The three yachts that have concluded their recent refits could not be named for confidentiality reasons.
