Yacht supply company, National Marine Suppliers, have recently opened a new Caribbean store, on Welfare Rd, St. Maarten, just east of the bridge on the Dutch side of the island. At the opening, guests were treated to live music, food, beverages, free T-shirts and other giveaways. Superyacht owners, captains, crew and local entrepreneurs attend the party.
National Marine Suppliers is headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The company has been in operation for the past 20 years. It offers services including packing and shipping, bonded storage for yacht owned equipment, tender storage, walk in coolers and freezers, custom cordage and a SEABOB showroom.
The new store aims to meet a need for this type of business in the area; the location also serves as a secure outlet for standard and overnight delivery from National Marine’s Ft. Lauderdale mega facility as well as international shipments. The second floor of the new shop will also feature interior products, clothing, uniforms, shoes, a navigation centre, as well as two workstations with internet access and a captain’s lounge.
Dean du Toit of National Marine commented, “As the yachting industry continues to expand, St. Maarten has become a centralised hub for the Caribbean season. We felt it necessary to take on the responsibility of opening a storefront in this location, not only to assist our vessels in a service aspect but to save them both time and money.”
National Marine are looking forward to entering a new phase of business operations on St Maarten.
