Atlantic Radio Telephone is now marketing the latest incarnation of Inmarsat’s satellite phone, the IsatPhone 2, to its superyacht customers.

The IsatPhone offers satellite voice communications anywhere in the world, bar the North and South Poles. And to add to its suitability for adventurous superyacht expeditions, each device has a battery life of 160 hours at standby, with eight hours of talk time on a single charge.

Suitable for crew and guests alike, version two is equipped with GPS location data, which can be viewed on a map or as text, and there is a tracking option for other devices. There is also an emergency assistance button.

Calls can still be received even with the, not inconsiderable, antenna stowed away and there is a Bluetooth option for hands-free use.

The IsatPhone’s display is made of Gorilla glass and features a transflective display, which is viewable in ‘any light’. The casing has received an IP65 rating for impact, dust and water resistance.
