LED manufacturer, IMTRA has introduced a refit-focused lighting solution with the launch of its Sigma PowerLED dimmer, which acts a modular upgrade for halogen lights and can be fitted into existing fixtures and hole cut-outs thanks to its two-wire cabling.
This plug and play module obviates the need to rewire circuitry or undertake invasive carpentry work and is compatible with existing dimmer setups. IMTRA also claims that it has been designed to minimise humming and electronic interference with other devices.
The range comprises three sizes – 65mm Sigma Small, 65-87mm Sigma Large and the Surface Mount. The Small is a standard ‘drop-in’ fitting to replace older modules; the Large contains the same engine as the Small but features a larger diameter trim ring and adapter plate that allows it to fit in larger holes; the Surface Mount is best suited to surfaces with limited recess depth. All models can be spring fitted or screw-mounted.
Sigma PowerLEDs are dimmable with existing 2-wire boat cables, compatible with many halogen digital dimmers, and have an input voltage of 10-40VDC for 12V, 24V and 32V systems powered by battery. The Sigma PowerLED will also operate without dimming on low voltage AC circuits driven through magnetic transformers. Available in a choice of warm white and cool white LEDs, IMTRA Sigma PowerLEDs feature an 83-degree beam angle, are rated at 50,000 lifetime hours, consume 5W of power per component, and have an ingress protection rating of IP65. The lights are offered in a choice of polished stainless steel and brushed stainless steel finishes, as well as custom colours upon request.
