i-Bos Ltd has upgraded its Cello Marine crew management software to a cloud-based platform, meaning it can be accessed by multiple users anywhere.

Commenting on the development, i-Bos Ltd’s Martyn Cain said, “The main benefit of using Cello Marine on the cloud is access. Yacht managers can now access crew information, payroll, yacht information and reports from the office, their home, departure lounges… anywhere they can get an internet connection.

“With no installation time and automatic updates, we have already seen a reduction in response times to action captain’s requests thanks to Cello Marine Dashboard’s seamlessly integrated module for captains.”

According to a press release issued by the company, document management via a cloud-based platform can reduce the number of physical servers required on board, as well as affording savings of up to 30 per cent. Cain said it also alleviated issues with disaster recovery plans and loss of data.

“This new cloud access gives you everything that is already available on the i-Bos desktop system, and seamlessly integrates with our dashboard module allowing captains to download copies of reports, MLC 2006 documents and crew certificates and passports”, he added.
