FRANCE, Paris. The January edition of Maison et Objet (M&O), the show to gauge the moods, trends and themes of the market, was a hub of activity with a number of new faces and returning exhibitors. SuperyachtDesign attended the famous trade fair to see what the world’s top design houses had to present. Among those exhibiting was Italy-based Fendi Casa, where it launched its latest collection created in collaboration with architect and designer Thierry Lemaire.

“The new Thierry Lemaire collection originates from a sophisticated and versatile furniture program, and is a magnificent take on Fendi Casa’s styles,” says press representative at Club House Italia, Beniamino Mengacci. “These pieces are not that different from sculptures in that they are expressive works of art displaying harmony, energy and an innate sense of proportions, translated into rigorous, at times aerodynamic lines that convey a sense of strength and immediacy.”

The Thierry Lemaire collection is comprised of the Faye Suspension lamp, Artù sofa and armchair, Ginevra coffee and side tables, Stardust chair and the Star table. The last of these consists of a base in the shape of a star and an oval shape top with a star-pattern in the middle. Both parts are constructed from Ebony Macassar with the base and tabletop star finished in polished brass. The table is matched with the Stardust chair, which features an exposed wooden frame and velvet lining. Brass has also been used at the bottom of the seats.

Cocoon sofa

Fendi Casa also presented the latest additions to its Contemporary Collection designed by Toan Nguyen. The new pieces come in the form of the Pierre coffee and side table, Janus lamp and the Cocoon sofa and Loveseat. “Cocoon stems from the will to create a very dramatic furniture collection, meant to an island of visual and acoustic intimacy,” says Mengacci.
