Project Adur is the latest 45m full aluminium fast hybrid concept. Designed as a world-cruising family yacht, sporting both exterior and interior design by Omega Architects. The design started with a very specific and detailed brief from the very experienced owner, who is heavily involved in the design process.
The exterior features a highly innovative concept with clean lines in a sturdy masculine exterior profile. Innovative details introduced by the owner include scooped bulwarks with custom-designed stainless handrail for each deck, offering clear views to the sides from all decks with specific deck furniture designs. Another specific wish was to remove the rubrail for a ‘cleanshaven’ hull.
The contemporary interior features floor-to-ceiling wrap-around windows on both aft decks, following another special owner request, thus providing panoramic views from the salon and sky lounge, and allowing natural light to flood in. Soft curves with wooden see-through slats emphasise the yacht’s waistline in the salon and dining area. Sophisticated dark and light shades create subtle contrast with each other and the water colours outside, while bronze details add a warm touch of luxury.
Adur comfortably accommodates eight guests. The most impressive interior design feature comes with the master stateroom on main deck forward, boasting a loggia with extendable balcony to blur the boundaries between inside and outside, enhancing the connection to the waters and surroundings.
Lower deck hosts six guests in three staterooms, all in bright and fresh colour schemes. A peaceful comfortable ambience permeates the yacht, making her the perfect place to relax and unwind in comfort with family. Action and adventure are also provided by a gym to work out or the submarine in the bow garage to explore the underwater world. A dive shop and side-boarding tender garage are hidden behind the flush stern door.
Project Adur’s efficient performance and reduced emissions allow her owners to also visit sensitive ecological areas. Her full aluminium construction and hybrid propulsion reach an impressive maximum speed of 26.5 knots or a transatlantic range of 3,800nm at 12 knots.
Development passed a crucial phase as Hakvoort Shipyard will start building soon. Naval architecture by Van Oossanen will guarantee sea-keeping qualities, speed and range. Ocean Independence takes care of both client and yacht management.
