ITALY, Dresano. Premiered at the 2014 Istanbul Boat Show, the 8.9 TT, which is just shy of 9m, is the latest tender model to come from Italian boat builder BWA. The boat is the first and largest in a new series that will include the seven-metre 6.9 TT and eight-metre 7.9 TT.

“The new 8.9 TT inflatable boat is an ‘extra comfort’ model from the Premium series,” says press officer Maurizio Bulleri. “The initials TT stand for Tender To, and although it has been designed as a supply boat to large yachts, it is suitable for various activities, from passenger transportation to pleasure boating. BWA’s 50 year history and remarkable experience in the construction of many different types of RIBS has led to the design of a special hull that is able to carry many people while providing a high level of safety and dynamic efficiency.”

Combining its length and healthy beam of 3.3m, the yard has been able to accommodate 16 guests and include a wide boarding platform at the bow. When underway, the seating area forward of the pilot console can be enclosed and protected from the sun thanks to a deployable canopy. Another canopy can also be put in place over the aft seating area and sunbathing platform when required. When not in use, both canopies are concealed within special housings under the cushions. Aft of the sunbathing pad is a swim platform, which includes a ladder for the ease of getting back on board after a swim.

The 8.9 TT is available in seven hull colours, with an additional three options available for the colour of the tubes, which have a diameter of 63cm. The floor of the boat is finished in teak with the option of having black, grey or white seams.

The tender will be fitted with a stern drive system, with an engine package ranging from 265hp to 550hp.
