ATL ensures superyachts always have something left in the locker

Aero Tec Laboratories (ATL) has launched its FueLocker collapsible on-deck fuel bladder, which is designed to provide a superyacht with extra fuel capacity, thereby extending its range for unique cruising propositions.

The FueLocker is a development of its predecessor, Petro-Flex, but offers a larger capacity and a smaller area. It is made of ‘durable military-spec rubberised fabric. The bladder is a temporary installation and is deck mounted when required.

Speaking to SuperyachtNews.com, VP of sales, David Dack said the product was fully scalable to accommodate any size of vessel. “We offer standard sizes up to 2000 litres, but have produced custom FueLockers in sizes up to 5000 litres”, he explained. "If clients would like a ‘custom sized’ FueLocker, then we can produce any size. The only criteria that has to be met for our free standing bladder tanks, is there must be  a ratio of 2.5:1 - width to height", added ATL UK's Kevin Molloy.

Dack said superyachts do represent a primary target market for the product and one has recently been installed on a 48m US-based vessel that is making its way to the Cannes Film Festival this summer. This vessel “purchased 4 2000 litre bladders as a security measure in the event they encountered weather delays and required additional fuel”, he said.
