In the memory of the man who founded one of the superyacht industry’s top training centres, JPMA/Hoylake Training School, the John Percival Leadership Award serves to recognise true leaders in the superyacht industry.
The award, in its third year, focuses on rewarding crewmembers of all levels. Whether you’re a bosun, chef or chief engineer (or any other position on board), being a leader is important and the John Percival Leadership Award aims to recognise and reward that.
“Does your bosun guide you in your career decisions, sharing knowledge and recommending courses?” asks the training school. “Does your engineer explain what goes on within the engine room, letting you shadow engine room checks? Does your chef share tips and techniques, encouraging crew to expand their culinary knowledge and abilities?”
Make sure that leader, whether an existing member of your crew or someone from a previous boat, is recognised, and email mate@hss.ac.uk explaining why they deserve to receive the John Percival Leadership Award.
Nominations must be received by Friday 30 September, 2016, and te award will be presented during the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show.
