MONACO. Custom carpet specialist Tai Ping offers a sneak peek at its latest Yacht Collection and reveals it will host a workshop as part of its new carpet care and refit program at the Monaco Yacht Show starting this week.

Created by French designer Emmanuelle Payard, the new collection features a white and pastel base that incorporate accents of bright colour. "Tai Ping's 2014 Yacht Collection evokes memories of exotic holidays, dreams and nostalgia," says Payard. "Celebrating Tai Ping's manufacturing capabilities, we are showcasing the very best in hand-tufted and needlepoint carpets. Using tried and tested techniques and pastel colours in yellows, pinks and turquoise."

Payard goes on to reveal that this year's collection pushes the boundaries of production by introducing a small range of samples that incorporate leather, adding another level of texture and design. The full collection will be on display at Tai Ping's stand QP25 during the yacht show.

Following the launch of its Yacht Carpets Care & Refit Program in March, presented in the SuperyachtDesign Tai Ping Special 2014, Tai Ping will conduct a workshop in collaboration with its long-term partner Krings and Acrew, where crew and designers will have the opportunity to learn how to best treat stained or damaged carpets.

"Ralf Krings, CEO of Krings, will conduct a workshop where people can learn more about how to treat carpets that have been stained and how to help maintain the life of the product," says Xavier Bonnamy, head of Tai Ping's Yacht division. "We have worked with Krings for the past 10 years and that's because they can often get 90 to 95 per cent of a stain out, if the initial treatment by crew is done correctly."

Bonnamy tells us that they will also hold a workshop at the Antigua Charter Yacht Show and Palma International Boat Show to help educate crew on the best ways to prolong the life of a carpet and what to do when accidents happen. The workshop will take place at Acrew on Friday 26th at 4b quai Antoine 1er, B.P. 445, Monaco, starting at 11:30.
