Rickmers-Linie appoints new US CEO

Robert Sappio has left his position as president and CEO of superyacht transporter, Rickmers-Linie (America), effective 1 July 2014. He will be replaced by Waldemar Poulsen.
Poulsen joins from Safmarine where he held the position of director/country manager, handling regional operations for the Americas, and was welcomed to the Rickmers- fold by group CEO, Ulrich Ulrichs. “We are looking forward to Val Poulsen joining our team”, Ulrichs said. “He brings a wealth of experience from Maersk Line and Safmarineto his new role as president and CEO of Rickmers-Linie (America). I am confident that Mr Poulsen will be a valuable asset to the Rickmers organisation.”
Sappio will retain a position on the board, and Ulrichs thanked him for his tenure: “Bob’s leadership over the last two years has helped to better position our company for the future in the Americas. We are happy he will remain connected to the company in a board role.”
