Ocean Refit announces site expansion

Carpentry and decking specialist, Ocean Refit, say they can now build teak decks of any size following acquisition of over 2,000m² of extra space.…

Carpentry and teak decking services specialist, Ocean Refit has added 2,000m² of floor space, as well as a 40m plus long hangar, to its existing 350m² joinery shop. The company says this gives it the capacity now to ‘build massive teak decks of any size’.

As well as simple space capacity, Ocean Refit has also invested in new technology. A portable 3D measuring device will precisely scale and scan surfaces via a laser beam, and is said to be accurate to the last millimetre. It enables Ocean Refit to re-construct a superyacht deck in a three-dimensional computer model using CAD. The technology also has the added bonus of allowing clients to see what is possible with design, style and finish.

“Not only has the market opened up for us by making these investments but we will be able to save time, be more competitive with our pricing and still offer a superior service,” commented director Robert Eldridge.
