Navico acquires Consilium's radar business

Navico Holding AS has announced that Navico, world leader in recreational marine electronics and parent company to the Lowrance, Simrad Yachting and B&G brands, has acquired Consilium's radar business. As part of the acquisition, Navico will take over all operations of the radar business in Italy, including research and development, product management and manufacturing.
Navico and Consilium have also entered into a sales and distribution agreement under which Consilium will continue to sell and service the Consilium Selux radar line as well as distribute Navico's complete portfolio of Simrad professional products, which include navigation, auto-steering and safety products, throughout its global and sales distribution network.
"The professional marine market is a strategic priority for our growth ambitions," explains Leif Ottosson, president and CEO of Navico Holding AS. "With the acquisition of Consilium's radar business and the sales and distribution agreement, we will obtain a very strong proven technology and product portfolio to drive our continued expansion and success within the sector."
Speaking to Ove Hansson, president and CEO of Consilium AB, he revealed that the acquisition builds on the successful partnership between Consilium and Navico. "We are delighted that Navico and Consilium will continue to work together and look forward to expanding the range of products that Consilium brings to our customers," he stated. "We anticipate great success over the coming months and years for both parties."
Navico will further add a team of professional radar experts from design to manufacturing to its core staff. The Consilium research and manufacturing facilities in Italy are now also part of Navico.
