IGY Marinas has announced a new addition to its international network of marinas, La Amada Marina in Cancun, Mexico.

With 176 berths for yachts up to 55m, the marina is part of the La Amada Residences and Marina in Playa Mujeres. The property includes 214 beachfront condominiums as well as the breathtaking natural surroundings of the Mayan Ruins.

The marina is well located from a practical and an aesthetic perspective. Situated in an
exclusive and private community it is ten minutes from Cancun, with its restaurants, bars, clubs and golf courses. It is also near a large coral reef convenient for sport fishing or scuba diving.

Echoing the increasing focus amongst superyacht marinas on customer service La Amada Marina has a concierge that is ‘fully at the service of marina guests’. There is also 24-hour surveillance, a yacht repair facility including a 100-tonne travel lift, fuel, yacht provisioning and a Captain’s lounge.

“We believe there is tremendous opportunity in Mexico, and we are pleased to be able to grow our presence in that market,” commented vice president of real estate for IGY Marinas Eric Simonton.

“La Amada Marina allows us to fill out our Western Caribbean strategy and we are now able to provide a complete circuitous cruising itinerary through the Caribbean and Central America to our guests.”
