The recently staged Valencia Boat Show opened with a ceremony to announce the certification of Marina Real Juan Carlos I with five stars, as a Blue Star Marina.
During the ceremony speech, International Marine Certification Institute certification manager, Ulrich Manigel said that the certification is a strong signal of quality with regards to levels of service, facilities and organisation that Marina Real Juan Carlos I offers. Furthermore, it has helped the management team to identify topics for further improvement.
Marina Real Juan Carlos I is operated by the town and region of Valencia. In 2007 the marina hosted the 32nd America's Cup, and since then, the marina's management has implemented new strategies to reap the dividends of the marina's capabilities.
It spans an area of 500,000 square metres, offering 900 berths, including an exclusive area of the port, the 'T-Dock Superyacht Marina', with berthing for 42 superyachts in moorings ranging from 25 to 150 metres in length.
Among the improvements being planned by the marina management is a renovation of the buildings that were built for the America's Cup Syndicates.
