Mourjan Marinas IGY has hosted their first yacht in Lusail Marina in the Lusail City development, Doha. Mourjan Marinas IGY’s CEO Michael Horrigan and Eng. Essa Mohammed Ali Kaldari, CEO of the Lusail Real Estate Development Company, were present to welcome the 29m yacht Lulwa, and her owner Salman Jassim Al Darwish, Chairman and CEO of Porsche in Doha. He said, “I am excited to be the first boat owner in the Lusail Marina, and to be part of this great project. This is a stunning location and a truly one of a kind marina.”

Mourjan aims to make the Lusail Marina District one of the premier boating and lifestyle destinations in the Middle East. They have built 96 floating marina berths catering for yachts of 10-40m. The berths are already in demand and superyachts owners have been tempted by the privacy and exclusivity of the marina.

The marina’s facilities include underwater lighting, black and black and grey water pump-out at the berths, wi-fi, a deck wash, as well as a five-star concierge service, laundry, valet parking and 24 hour security.  The waterfront has a café, a juice bar, a family lounge and a space devoted to hosting events. Integrated misting technology will air condition the walkways during the summer season in addition to over 10,00sq/ft of shade structures. It was designed to be as eco-friendly as possible; it uses aluminium marina systems and non-corrosive recyclable materials, including marine-grade aluminium alloy frames, composite wood decking, plastic floats and stainless steel hardware.

Micheal Horrigan commented, “Lusail Marina, and the wider Marina District within Lusail City, are going to be something special and will push the marina industry to a whole new level that has never been seen before in the Middle East.”
