Guthrie will be part of KVH’s next phase of development in satellite communications new product development, including the launch this year of new TracPhone V-IP series system and IP-MobileCast content delivery service. TracPhone V3-IP, V7-IP, and V11-IP systems use the new Integrated CommBox Modem (ICM), which enables the systems to receive and decode multicast content. Several user devices can access the multicast data stored on the onboard server, which the company sees as a timely solution for maritime operators looking to improve crew welfare in accordance with MLC-2006.
He joins KVH from widespread experience in the telecoms industry, including British Telecom, Europe Star, where he was responsible for European sales and marketing strategies and later at Verestar, where he led the VSAT managed services group for the EMEA region.
