Intellian has officially opened its newly expanded Innovation Centre in Seoul, South Korea, which now has an additional two floors to facilitate additional production capacity. A company statement explained that the extra 6,596 m2 space will allow the company to increase production to support its 'solid growth' from 2012-2013, as well as push forward with its continued maritime satcom R&D programme.
The Innovation Centre will comprise an integral part of the next generation of Intellian products. It will house the Intellian design team, which builds and tests the company’s products for shock/vibration, temperature/humidity, salt mist, and water resistance on-site.
Technologies such as the Wide Range Search (WRS), which allows antenna systems to accurately lock onto a satellite as far away as 22,000 miles, are under development at the centre.
In addition to product development and production, the building houses the company’s customer and partner training facility.
