At the Heesen press conference yesterday morning the prolific yard took the opportunity to not only share details of project Kometa, but to also announce the development of a 90m dry dock.

Cementing their commitment to the larger end of the market, Mark Cavendish, sales and marketing director of the yard, explained that, complementing this new development, they are currently in ongoing discussions concerning a number of large scale projects. "We are dedicated and committed to the large yacht sector," Cavendish reinforced.

The construction of the dry dock will commence early next year, and will be completed 14 to 15 months later.

Perhaps large semi custom yachts are the future of the superyacht market; regardless, certainly Heesen are entering a new sphere of superyacht building.
