The app uses the phone’s GPS software to pinpoint the crewmember’s exact location and put the crewmember in touch with the nearest BWA office. The crewmember can do this at his or her leisure, or by pressing the ‘Hot Call’ button the nearest BWA Yachting office is automatically called, without any need for searching.
“We exist to help managers, captains and crew with the increasing demands of managing a modern superyacht. We wanted to the app to be a practical tool that would help make life easier on board,” BWA Yachting operation manager Nikoloas Patsiokas tells The Crew Report.

The app also provides a range of what it calls “insider information” from its local experts across the Mediterranean, Caribbean and the Americas, providing detail on anchorages, hotels, restaurants and shopping particularly recommended for superyacht crew and guests. Detailed information on other destinations is in the process of being collated and will be included in the app soon. “Our local offices are experts on each location and we wanted to share some of this knowledge. The needs of a superyacht crew are not the same as the average tourist, so we’ve tailored the guide to provide really useful tips,” adds Patsiokas.
The new app is part of BWA Yachting’s brand refresh, headed up by The Superyacht Agency, with a view to provide a “simpler, smarter superyacht experience” for crew.
The app is available for iOS users via the App Store or for Andriod users via Google Play.
