British Consulate boosts UK exposure in US superyacht industry

Viking Recruitment and Savage Lighting invited general Dave Prodger of the British Consulate to FLIBS in a move to boost the UK's exposure within the US superyacht industry.…

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) always proves a good opportunity for evidence of the UK superyacht industry's presence within its American counterpart industry. At past shows, and at the recent Monaco Yacht Show, Superyacht UK has had a noteworthy presence and worked to promote UK companies within the US market. At this year's FLIBS, however, Superyacht UK's presence was limited, with no official Superyacht UK area.

This did not stop UK companies from promoting their place and growth in the US market, however. UK-based Viking Recruitment and Savage Lighting invited industry professionals to their stands to ensure the message of the UK's presence was not missed.

In attendance was General Dave Prodger of the British Consulate and Danielle Castellon of UK Trade and Investments, looking to highlight and grow the exposure of the UK maritime industry within the American market.

"Both Viking Recruitment and Savage Lighting have a good presence in the US and we want to be showing off the best of British companies," Mark Jaenicke, HR and recruitment director at Viking Recruitment, told SuperyachtNews.com. "We are working with the British Chamber of Commerce and UK Consulate in Florida to further boost our exposure year on year. We are encouraging other UK companies to be part of this."
