Benetti sends out bullish message at FLIBS

Italian shipyard Benetti sends out a strong message on US success during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.…

Benetti has announced strong success across the American market during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. According to the Italian shipyard’s most recent figures, 2015 demonstrated good consolidation with the American marketplace, with eight sales out of a worldwide total of 18.

Benetti secured four contracts for Fast Displacement vessels in North America, making it the Italian shipyard's most successful model range. A further contract for the first hull of the Mediterraneo 116 was secured in North America this year, scheduled for delivery in 2016. However, a new challenge is imminent for Benetti and its plans for the 66m steel and aluminium custom model.

Benetti has also expressed growing interest from South American buyers, particularly in Mexico and Brazil. However, it says countries such as Colombia, Peru and Chile remain quiet, pointing to a lack of marine culture in these regions.

Overall Benetti’s position in the Italian market is strong in terms of output, with 14.6 per cent of the fleet. Furthermore, when combined with Azimut, the shipyard’s dominance becomes even greater with 26 per cent of the Italian fleet.

According to The Superyacht Intelligence Agency data, when added together, Azimut and Benetti have made the most 30m+ deliveries of any shipyard in the world.
