Bellingham Marine, the marina builder, has announced the launch of a new timber dock system, which the company says has a higher load capacity than other available commercial timber systems.
Bellingham’s timber dock features a continuous waler system with steel reinforced connectors. These features in conjunction with linear torsion beams provide increased strength and stiffness to the dock system.
The dock’s core system is built around a compressed frame module, which uses Bellingham’s proprietary design to significantly reduce the footprint of the shipped parts.
“[The system's] revolutionary design gives it an advantage over other timber systems,” said Everett Babbitt, president of Bellingham Marine. Mark Johnson, general manager of Bellingham Marine’s Timber division added, “The dock’s compressed modular system provides over 400% greater shipping capacity, which results in a huge savings to our customers and allows us to effectively reach a large geographical area.”
With the introduction of its timber system, Bellingham Marine intends to reach out to freshwater customers and to boat harbours that have a strong preference for timber.
