SuperyachtNews.com can exclusively reveal that 120 of the 220 Azimut employees laid off by the production yachtbuilder in August 2013 have returned to work at its Avigliana HQ.
The 220 workers were made offered temporary government-subsidised redundancy by Azimut as part of its streamlining exercise, which also saw the builder close two other facilities and move production back to Avigliana.
In a state sponsored process known as cassa integrazione, the workers were due to recommence employment in January 2014. But Azimut’s HR department has confirmed to SuperyachtNews.com that 100 employees are yet to return to their roles.
