Aurora outlines ambitious expansion plans for 2014
International transport specialist, Aurora Yacht Logistics has outlined its new strategy for providing logistics services to the Australian market in 2014. Partnering with the Peters & May network will comprise the key focal area as the company aims to offer a larger range of shipping options. The partnership sees Aurora expanding and segmenting its existing services into general marine freight, marine event logistics, commercial boat transport and customs clearing.
Managing director, Jason Roberts explained the idea behind the new strategy: “We’ve taken this new approach in marketing our services to educate our audiences that we’re not just a general marine transport company, but offer specialised expertise across all areas of marine logistics.”
Aurora identifies itself as 'the world’s only ISO accredited boat transporter' and Roberts stated that Aurora’s clientele and the industry should be able to clearly identify what transport services are available to them and what is suited to them. “We are the only provider in Australia to offer such a diverse range of secure marine transport solutions and we aim to create an environment where our customers continue to feel secure when they use our services. We share our knowledge with our clients and keep them regularly updated every step of the way,” said Roberts.
Along with their lift on/lift off yacht transport service, the expansion will see Aurora’s focus oriented more towards marine event logistics. As Australian saiing becomes more prominent, Aurora aims to attract and assist international competitions. With the capacity to monitor racing yacht movements by both air and sea transport, including mast freight, Aurora allows for complete international yacht event door-to-door services.
“We are proud to offer our customers a comprehensive marina-to-marina style service across all our divisions, which is a demand infrequently offered by larger international companies,” said Roberts.
Aurora assists with temporary imports for containerised crew equipment, mast and cradle transport and yacht spares by air and sea freight. In terms of their customs clearing service, before a client imports their yacht, commercial craft or spare parts, in-house customs brokers provide comprehensive information on relevant import duty, GST and Australian quarantine requirements.
