Company’s Robust Development Strategy to Include Hotels, Resorts and Restaurant Expansion; New VP of Hospitality Tapped to Oversee Growth

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – June 22, 2017 – IGY Marinas today announced plans to expand the company’s hospitality division following the recent promotion of Charles “Charlie” Irons to Vice President of Hospitality.  Irons will be responsible for overseeing the division and will lead efforts to grow IGY Marinas’ hospitality pipeline, which includes its restaurant concept, Fat Turtle.  Prior to joining IGY Marinas in 2013, Irons spent time with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and St. Regis, among others.

“It’s an exciting time for us at IGY Marinas, as we look to build our presence in the hotels, resorts, and restaurant space,” said Irons.  “We’ve proven that we can be successful in this area and believe that our breadth of knowledge in the maritime industry will mesh perfectly with more opportunities ashore.”

IGY Marinas’ plans for expansion follow the recent re-opening of Montauk Yacht Club Resort & Marina (pictured right).  The Hamptons property in Montauk is owned and managed by IGY Marinas and features nautically-inspired guestrooms, villas and suites, restaurants serving fresh local flare, a 232-slip marina and 10,000 sq. ft. of meeting space perfect for weddings or corporate events.  The company also provides support to two resort locations in Turks and Caicos and Panama, as both properties house an IGY Marinas facility.

Additionally, IGY Marinas has begun exploring a new-build hotel project in St. Thomas at The Marina at Yacht Haven Grande and will look at investment, management and development projects in other waterfront locations.

“We’re expanding rapidly and believe that there are multiple ways for us to build our presence on land,” said Tom Mukamal, CEO of IGY Marinas.  “We’ve played in this space with our Montauk property and two Fat Turtle locations, and we’re really looking forward to building our repertoire.  Our customer base is looking for more IGY-branded experiences and it’s going to be exciting to see IGY Marinas expand even more in the hospitality sector.”

Today, IGY Marinas operates 15 marinas in seven countries and features one of the world’s largest vessel support networks, the IGY Anchor Club Strategic Partners.  The company also recently announced its acquisition of One Island Park – Miami Beach and is undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation at Maximo Marina in St. Petersburg, Fla.
