Newport Rhode Island is gearing up for the arrival of the world’s most grueling ocean race - the Volvo Ocean Race. The race village is being set up at Fort Adams State Park and opening May 5th in time for the arrival of the first boat of six competing in leg 6.

Newport is the host to the only US stopover for the 2015 Volvo Ocean Race and will feature fantastic free entertainment, live music, ceremonies, multimedia entertainment and an interactive exploration zone.

The Pro Am racing starts on May 14th followed by the In Port race on the 16th and the Leg start to Lisbon on May 17th, all with excellent viewing from Fort Adams State Park and Narraganset Bay.
