The video shows how the Minitek impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) safeguards steel hulls against corrosion. The system consists of flush mounted anodes and reference electrodes which are connected to a control panel. The anodes produce a small current which neutralises corrosive activity on the hull surface. Unlike sacrificial anodes, the Cathelco anodes only need replacement every 15 years or more with significant savings in maintenance costs.
