Rory Marshall gained his early experience painting super yachts in Norway in the early 90s as an applicator and since then has worked up through the ranks involved with painting projects in southern Europe, mostly Italy, working for Wally Yacht, ISA, Benetti, CRN and Fincantieri.
Recent projects include, My Aquamarina, noted for her metallic hull and pearlescent superstructure, the large Italian project and series of new builds in Ancona. He has had wide experience with the application of metallic coatings during his years at Wally where he managed the application of a number of interesting metallic finishes. Since the conception and tentative introduction of an outline for paint finishing standards at Mets in 2002 Rory Marshall has been an advocate of the inclusion of clear indication of finish standards which, he specifies, will only work if included alongside good monitoring and control of the project whether refit or new build.
