Fleet News

Although there were a small number of launches to report on in September there was still plenty of fleet activity taking place. In fleet news in September, we reported that the 32.4m Kestrel 106, being built at the Aganlar Shipyard, is nearing completion and is due to begin sea trials at the end of November. Palumbo have secured an order for a 37m superyacht, to be built for a Russian owner. More good news for the order book as Ginton Naval Architects announced that the construction of a new 40-metre sailing yacht has commenced at Mengi Yay Shipyard in Turkey. Vitters announced an order for a 33.4m composite sloop, named Inoui. Royal Huisman also announced two new orders, a 46m classic pilot ketch and a 48m classic sloop.

Sarafin, the first Oyster 100, completed sailing trials, and the hull of Perini’s 60m C.2193 was turned, with delivery set for 2013. The hull on the Curvelle Quaranta, being built at Logos Marine in Turkey, has also been completed. The newly launched 49m Kamaxantha from Royal Huisman is currently undergoing sea trials prior to her delivery next year.

The refit on JK4 Endeavour is nearing completion (for more information, see a detailed article in the upcoming issue 128 of The Superyacht Report). Devonport (soon to be rebranded Pendennis Plus) have announced they are to refit the 71m Dona Amelia.
