This Week in Superyacht Brokerage: Sales increase from last week

Speaking with Sean Doyle, now of Northrop & Johnson, following the sale of 62.5m Maidelle last week, he shared with SuperyachtNews.com that it was “an interesting sale crossing many continents.” A rising theme brokers are seeing is the emergence of new owners from the BRIC nations, and Doyle confirms “the owners were in Asia, with their trade-ins to go to the Mediterranean. A lot of different time zones and different logistics to co-ordinate but everyone is very happy with the result”. As for the market on the whole, Doyle believes “the US market is very strong and the Asian market continues to grow and expand”.
The week running 3 - 10 June saw four sales completed, eight new central agencies announced, nine price reductions made and one yacht withdrawn from the market.
Superyacht Sales
The largest sale completed this week was 67.06m Allure Shadow. Completed by Shadow Marine in 2007, she was listed through Moran Yacht & Ship for $19,950,000 and sold in an in house deal.
Cape 4 Yachting has sold 30.75m Erossea, completed by Azimut in 2010 and listed at €3,950,000 in this in house sale.
Cornelius Gerling of Edmiston confirms the sale of 30m 1997 Feadship, La Mascarade, listed at €3,950,000 and sold in an in house deal.
The final sale this week comes from Kevin Merrigan and Paul Daubner of Northrop & Johnson with 37.19m Shogun. Built by Flagship in 1993 and refit in 2005, she was on the market for $4,500,000.
New Central Agencies
There were eight new CAs announced this week, rising slightly from the seven announced last week. The new listings had a total combined length of 402.04m, with their combined asking prices totalling €85,933,604 ($113,586,907).
The largest new CA announced this week was through Bill Sanderson of Edmiston with 99.13m Christina O. Completed by Canadian Vickers in 1943 and refit in 2001, she is now listed at €25,000,000 and lying in La Ciotat.
Michel Chryssicopoulous of Cape 4 Yachting has announced new listing 1987 Haak build, 37.9m Sidarta, on the market at €3,750,000.
Two new listings from Merle Wood & Associates this week: Thom Conboy has listed 2007 Trinity built 49.07m Meridian, on the market at $19,950,000; and new listing 40m Echo, completed by Oceanfast in 1990 is now for sale at $5,495,000.
Three new listings from Worth Avenue Yachts this week: Peter Thompson and Michael Mahan have listed 57m 2009 Aegean Yacht built Montigne, on the market at $14,499,000; Thompson is joined by Simon Gibson in the listing of 48.77m Asteria, built by Anastasiades & Tsordanides in 1970 and now for sale at $14,995,000; and Mark Osterhaven has listed 31.39m Child’s Play, completed by Westbay Sonship in 1999 and refit in 2010, at $3,595,000.
The final new listing this week comes from Y.CO with 38.55m Feadship Holland build from 2003, 38.55m Katrion, now for sale at €12,900,000.
Price Reductions
Price reductions are back up again, following the lone reduction last week, there were nine reductions made this week. The following yachts are still on the market and looking for buyers:
The largest yacht to be reduced this week was 51.4m Lazy Z, completed by Oceanco in 1997. Now listed at $14,900,000, she is on the market through Merle Wood & Associates and Burgess.
Bill Palmer of Ardell has reduced 36.27m Astral Star, completed by Codecasa in 1974, to $895,000.
Irina Blagodyr at Blue Water Yachting has reduced 39.4m Mondo Marine built Maestro, from 2009 and refit in 2012, to €7,900,000.
Two reductions this week from Moran Yacht & Ship: 2010 45.7m Palmer Johnson built Vantage is now listed at $24,500,000; while 34.8m Miami Blues, completed by Euroship in 1991 and refit in 2007, is now for sale at €4,000,000.
Rick Weisenberger of Northrop & Johnson has reduced 2000 Gambol Industries built 39.6m Sojourn to $6,900,000.
Axel Douque at Ocean Independence has reduced 38.5m 2009 San Lorenzo built Onyx to €9,900,000.
OceanStyle and Neff Yacht Sales have announced the new price for 2006 MCP Yachts built 30m Obrigado at $3,950,000.
The final reduction this week comes from Jim Eden of Worth Avenue Yachts and Moonen Brokerage with 37m Victoria Del Mar. Completed by Moonen in 2001 and refit in 2008, she is now on the market at $7,295,000.

Blue Water Yachting has announced that 49.9m Zeus, completed by Mangusta in 2009 has been temporarily withdrawn from the market.
