CRN unveils new 70m superyacht

Named 'She', the new 70m superyacht concept is designed by Studio Vallicelli Design…

Italian shipyard CRN, a subsidiary of the Ferretti Group, has unveiled a new 70m superyacht concept designed by Studio Vallicelli Design, run by Andrea Vallicelli and Alessandro Nazareth, in collaboration with the CRN technical office. Named She, the new custom superyacht is intended to call upon a graceful style and in the shipyard’s words, include a ‘subtly feminine touch’ to the yacht’s exterior.

As the name would suggest, She has been designed with elegance and femininity at the core of its styling. The yacht has a slender profile but is also on the more classic and simplistic side, defined by a sloping sheer line and curves from the bridge wings and balconies on the owner’s deck forward on the yacht’s profile.

“She is a new design of considerable potential, defined by her flexibility, sophistication of line and generous interior and exterior spaces devised by Vallicelli Design in what is proving a highly satisfactory partnership. We are hard at work on various projects, starting with the new 70m vessel for which we now have a signed contract, as recently announced.”

“She is a new design of considerable potential, defined by her flexibility, sophistication of line and generous interior and exterior spaces devised by Vallicelli Design in what is proving a highly satisfactory partnership,” says Stefano De Vivo, CRN’s CCO. “We are hard at work on various projects, starting with the new 70m vessel for which we now have a signed contract, as recently announced.”

Like the majority of concepts, it is highly likely that this custom design would be subject to alterations and changes to meet the request of an owner. However, the current design includes a number of signature aesthetical elements, which the shipyard says is ‘visible both in the lines of the side gunwales’.

According to The Superyacht Intelligence Agency, since the shipyard’s formation in 1963, a total of 16 different studios have designed the exteriors of CRN’s fleet. At 40 per cent of the projects, Zuccon International Project takes the lion’s share of exterior design work for the studio, followed by CRN’s in-house team, as demonstrated in the chart above.

“Working with CRN is always an exciting challenge, and this project is no exception,” says Andrea Vallicelli, of Vallicelli Design. “As the yacht’s name suggests, the softness and delicacy of feminine forms have strongly inspired this design and its fluid, elegant lines.”

CRN currently has a total of three superyachts under construction, with a cumulative LOA of 203m.
