There is nothing quite like a long and distinguished history to add to a brand’s sense of quality and luxury. Following on from its collaboration with Lalique, THG, the world’s leading French brand for luxury bath products, has joined forces with master glassmaker, Daum, a luxury brand that has been in constant production for more than 130 years, to create the exclusive Daum Collection.
THG’s Daum Collection features sculpted crystal handles that play with light and colour. Made up of six designs, mixing rich browns, greens and ambers, each piece in the collection is cast by hand meaning every fitting in the Daum Collection is unique.
Founded in 1878, Daum has been had an influential role in the world of glass art for over a century. Using rare and ancient techniques that date back nearly 5,000 years, nearly all of Daum’s crystal is pâte-de-verre, a technique that uses the lost-wax method to make a mould for the sculpture. Daum’s master artists fill the mould with multicolored crystal fragments and after a delicate firing process, the mould is broken, revealing the pâte-de-cristal sculpture. As each mould is broken, every piece of Daum is truly a one-of-a-kind work of art.
