This month, the Rubelli / Donghia showroom in London added Parisian lighting brand Charles to its collections. Founded in 1908, Charles is one of the few remaining workshops in the world to preserve the matchless tradition of French metalworking to create unique interior pieces.

Already available in the US, the Charles lighting collection fits perfectly with Donghia’s furniture and Rubelli’s luxury fabrics. Each Charles light is entirely hand-made by skilled artisans and its contemporary collections are often designed by renowned designers. Charles has been known to work with designed such as Arman, Didier La Mache, Christian Duc, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Zebulon, Holly Hunt and more recently with the artists Philippe Parent and Jean Boggio.

"We are thrilled to bring Charles Lighting to the London showroom,” says Chuck Chewning, creative director at Donghia. “The collection beautifully complements the luxury lifestyle of Donghia by adding a layer of design that can only be described as interior jewellery.” Chewning is so taken with the brand that he has commissioned a pair of Charles' Palazzo Lamps for his own home. “Charles’ design philosophy and exclusive designs seamlessly blend with the backdrop of the Donghia design lifestyle,” adds Michael Wagner, president at Charles Lighting. “We share the same desire for quality, perfection and the aim of inspiring and providing the ‘wow-factor’ for our clients.”
