German-based superyacht interior fitter, Loher Raumexklusiv is facing insolvency and the wrapping up of its operations if a buyer is not found by 1 June. The Bavarian company, which works across the superyacht, private jet and residential sectors, faces closure if a buyer is not found.

However, the company’s administrator, Dr Josef Scherer has suggested third generation owner and managing director, Alred Loher Jun is stalling the process and jeopardising the future of the company, according to reports in Landauer Neue Presse. Scherer insists there are “many interesting prospects”, and has implored Loher Jun to “avoid harm to the company and the employees”.  Loher has been working in the superyacht market since the 1980s and has fitted vessels up to 150m. The current workforce totals around 230 employees.

Loher Jun has cited around 20 interested parties himself, with 10 “very seriously interested”. But he insists that a sale to keep the company operative, rather than retaining a family link, is his primary concern.

"We want to maintain the operation. Whether a majority or a minority stake, I would give anything to make it go further; personal interests must be set aside", Loher Jun told Landauer…

SuperyachtNews.com contacted Loher Raumexklusiv but the company was unavailable for comment.
