Intec Marine announces energy-efficient superyacht projects

The Netherlands-based Intec Marine Shipyard has announced a business venture with three fellow companies that will see the development and marketing of two models of what the shipyard has called “next generation yachts.”
The business venture comprises the development of the 42.7m Intec Marine 140 and the 27.4m Intec Marine 90. Dutch company Guido de Groot Design is the company behind the creation of the energy-efficient, hybrid propulsion motoryachts, which have been developed in conjunction with San Diego-based naval architect Douglas Sharp Yacht Design.
Guido de Groot Design is responsible for the design of the motoryachts, and has recently delivered new designs of the Intec Marine 90 and is at this moment developing the designs of the Intec Marine 140, which will be presented to the market later this year.
Douglas Sharp Yacht Design is working on the project from a technical aspect, providing the structural design and naval architecture to compliment the styling and arrangements supplied by Guido de Groot Design, and the propulsion by Voith and Intec Marine Shipyard.
James Munn of Fraser Yachts, Monaco, will be marketing the Intec Marine 140 and 90 models. Of Fraser Yachts, Intec Marine said: “Fraser Yachts’ company-wide commitment to the protection of our natural environment is clearly evident. They have a long-term relationship with a carbon-offset program, and have promoted a wide variety of yachts with ‘green technology’”.
