The body of a crewmember has been found in the waters of Port Vauban, Antibes, the Antibes police force, the Commissariat de police d’Antibes, has confirmed.

Speaking with SuperyachtNews.com, a spokesman for the Commissariat de police d’Antibes stated: “I think it was an Englishman who was working [on board the] yacht. I can’t say much about it because we are working on the investigation.”

The investigation into the death of the crewmember is currently underway and as such the Commissariat de police d’Antibes were unable to provide any further information. However, the spokesman did confirm the crewmember came from a large yacht, though we are are unable to confirm at this time whether the vessel in question was a superyacht. “Yes, the crewmember was from a big yacht, but I’m not a yacht specialist so I couldn’t tell you exactly if it was 100-feet long or 50 feet, I couldn’t tell. But it was a big one,” the spokesman told SuperyachtNews.com.

Port Vauban has confirmed police found the crewmember last Monday and the incident happened at International Yacht Club d'Antibes.
